I think today is really important if he is.
This isn't the day I would stop trying to get rescued, or rescue him.
I saw alot of moisture in the Gulf. So, he could have collected some water if he got rained on last night. That may have bought him another day.
I'm hoping he pulls through.

I've been a mile or so offshore in a 16 foot jon boat many times. However, I don't ever really relax offshore in a small boat. I do what I go to do (usually fish a platform or two) then go back in. You have to watch the weather and be aware of whether a current is pulling you one way or another. Many times I've had to book it back in with through chop when a cloud pops up. While I take some chances, I would never go that far out on paddle or pedal power alone and sure as hell wouldn't linger.
