Yes, Ian Darke made a reference to #9 (Gomez) scoring on 9/11. Someone on here said now Shea (#11) should score. Jumbo then responded yes, and then whoever is #1.
Ah. I was confused, because I didn't know if you guys were referring to his position number or his jersey number. Both #1.
But, in his defense, Timmy's done it before...

I wasn't involved. I was confused like you were. I just went back in the thread and looked. Obviously we know Timmy can score when he wants. I think it was more that someone made fun of him for saying #1 instead of Tim.

But when he said "I don't memorize the numbers for every team I follow" (or something like that), it made me think that they were talking about jerseys.
Which, if they were, not knowing that Tim is #1 is an American sin.

so i wasnt around during the game and dont feel like searching the thread, but how did everyone react to twellman's analysis of herc goal?
he pretty much douched on him hard as frick, i honestly didnt think it was THAT bad of a shot. keeper was playing incredible all night; any shot that beat him was of decent quality. ball had some mean dip on it, it wasnt placed in the top corner but cry me a fricking river taylor.

I don't think anyone commented. We were just happy that we had scored. Plus, you really can't take Twellman seriously since he portrays himself as having so many concussions that his brain is mush.

The keeper was definitely late on getting over on that shot. He had a point but did douche it up a bit much

i was definitely thrilled, it just seemed like 10 minutes after the fact twellman kept wanting to bring up how lucky he got.
it wasnt/isnt really that big of a deal, but i just thought it was weird how hard twellman was campaigning to be known as the male chastain

Wait, what's this? Goalkeepers don't always wear #1 forever and ever? What's that? Klinsman just re-instituted the policy of wearing that system of numbers rather than using their traditional numbers?
What's that? You're all being a bunch of insufferable twats? oh ok then.

Yeah, they seem to be being a little nit-picky.

As I said earlier, it's not always the case, but it's the majority. I still find it ridiculous that you didn't know this. Maybe if you didn't portray yourself as a soccer snob, it may have been overlooked. Your posts about supporting rivals and now this prove opposite. Quit acting like an a-hole all of the time and maybe people won't point out how dumb you are.

Honestly? Give me a few minutes to think about it and I can probably name nearly all the name/number combinations on both USA & arsenal, but when I'm just making a quick post on my phone mid game (A game we hadn't even seen tim howard in at that point, as jamaica was firmly stuck in their own third) I'm not concerned with remembering little details nearly as typing my thoughts, pressing submit, and getting back to watch the game.
Again, stop being so fricking nitpicky.

No worries Jumbo. I understand where ya coming from.

Wait, he's the one that didn't know Tim Howard was #1? That's pretty bad.

OK, so you forgot what jersey number Tim wore for the USMNT. Honestly, that's fine...thought that was common knowledge for US fans, but you said you were in a hurry, so that's cool.
I don't know where the topic of position numbers came up.
I was more confused than anything. Sorry I'm a twat for that.
