I saw a report last night that Fourchon took a beating, don't know if it was wind or water.

Earlier a post in the big Isaac thread said Fourchon has had near total devastation. If true, I feel for those folks..

those southern areas can't take the beating they are getting with this thing simply sitting there whipping up storm surge and pounding them with rain/wind.

anything south of belle chase, expect the worst.

Yea the basically said grand isle & fourchon were completely wiped off the map. Hopefully they're spared a bit on the back end the storm.

Anyone heard from the GI mayor?

Talked to a friend with a camp at Port Fouchon. He has significant damage. No reports on others.

I don't buy these "wiped off the map, totally destroyed" reports anymore without pics. There's too many cameras around for somewhere to be wiped off the map and there not be video of it on the news.

I had to google this place to find out where it was at, didn't realize people lived down there.

I remember that big pumping station right passed the intersection was guarded by fully armed military personel for months after Katrina.

I imagine a bunch of lurkers are looking at this thread and thinking, "Fourchon? Is that like the physical location of 4chan?"

Or how bout a reporter with a sat-phone calling into at least one station... Nothing like that coming in.
