Don't know where the best place to post this.. Figured it would be here..
I have poison ivy all over my body.. Pretty severe. My right forearm and eye are swelling.. It's on both forearms, both ankles, chest, face, and other places..
I have tried Ivarest and benadryl. I have some aloe vera plant and 5.5 water as well. I've avoided hot water.. I heard toothpaste on it helps?
Does anyone have any suggestions for help?

Bleach. This helped me a LOT or I would not post it. Don't do this if you have open sores. Get in the shower with a bottle of bleach. Rub it over the rash areas (not anywhere near the eye, obviously). Wait for a few minutes. Rinse off.

I've been in pain most the day.. Didn't think it would get this bad..
My right forearm is swelling up to the point I think it's restricting blood flow to my right hand.
First time on the Outdoor Board, didn't think there would be a thread on the first page.. Just pretty miserable at the moment and want this gone..
May be seeing the doctor in the morning if not the ER tonight.

Yea too late.. Guess I had the oil on my hand when I went to the bathroom.. Not really concerned about it as much as my arm and my face.

You need a steriod shot. Go to an urgent care center. Best money you ever spent.

I'll be getting a shot in the morning if I can hold off

sounds to me like you need to take a benadryl tablet or something like that to ease off the swelling some....maybe couple that with some ibuprofen to knock back the pain and inflamation..
FWIW, I have also gotten some relief by putting hydrogen peroxide on it...kinda dries it out...

NU skin at the pharmacy is badass. I had it on my eye as well, and ahve had it about 5 times this year (cleaning same area and being dumb)
You put it and it kills the itch. Takea a few days but basically gets the oil off. It costs about 24 bucks

Mineral spirits works better than bleach for me and is a helluva lot faster at drying up the blisters.

I know how your feeling, I fought poison oak for damn near a month before going to the doctor. I tried everything, one thing that felt good and worked some was rubbing the hell out of it until it was bleeding with green rubbing alcohol. Mineral spirits sound like it would work to, dont do the bleach, you will end up with chemical burns. Oh yea be prepared for some scarring.
