couple of things:
1) to throw QB out of the equation says enough. Is that the only way you can make an argument that the rosters are near equal? The NFL is a QB league, bottom line. The Saints have the best, the 9'ers have one of the worst.
2)Great offenses are maintained year to year. Through schedule changes, through personnel changes, etc. Defenses are much much harder to keep maintained at an elite level. Why am i saying this? Because the 49'ers player over the head of their personnel. They have a few good players on that D, but for the most part, really benefitted from a perfect storm. The Saints exposed them in the playoffs. Despite committing turnover after turnover, ON THE ROAD, they still almost managed to beat them.
How many teams in the NFL maintain elite DEF's year to year? Pitt? BALT? Maybe NYJ? How many in the NFC?........... So yea, good luck with maintaining your bread and butter going into 2012.

quote:Well, maybe their QB shouldn't have coughed it up twice and been outplayed by Alex Smith.

quote:I was following the theme of the thread? Numbnuts. To call a guy who finished in the Top 10 in passer rating "one of the worst", even if he's not all that great, is delusional as frick.

How many teams set overall yardage records every year? Good luck repeating that bread and butter?
