Has anyone tried it yet? Just moved down the street and may pick some up for lunch.

did you go? my gf and her friend checked it out couple weeks ago. didn't say it was anything special .. but not terrible. said they keep it really cold in there and their food got cold within a couple minutes of having cold air blow on it. also said they had an issue with the coleslaw; not sure what that could have been

I did end up going. Had a pulled pork sandwich topped with cole slaw and a side of bqq beans. It wasn't anything special, but It was still good. The beans were a different style, they had kidney, black, butter, and another bean(drawing a blank) with shredded pork that were all roasted. I went at 11:30 and there was not a soul in the place.

Doesn't sound like anything I need to rush out and try.

I've been twice because I was too lazy to drive to The Joint. The pulled pork was pretty good but the brisket was way too dry both times. They had 5 or 6 sauces, two of which I really liked, the rest were nothing special.

Every waitress that I had seemed like it was her first time working in a restaurant. They forgot drinks, forgot silverware, mixed up orders, and got the bill wrong. On my second trip, the owner/manager? was working and he made sure to follow behind her and fix everything.

I'll stick with the Joint and BooKoo for now and Whole Foods if I want quick bbq uptown.

Ate there twice when they were in Metry. Good but not up to par with the top dogs IMO. Really liked the sweet potato mini muffins.

I ordered a couple after reading how good they were on here but I wasn't crazy about them.

On a side note, your avatar helped me decide on rb from Guy's for lunch. Where is the one in the picture from?

Just finished a poboy from Guy's and getting ready to cheer against RvP. Do you think Katie will let me burn my jersey at the bar?

It was in Metairie before the current location. I'm not sure if it was on Freret before that.

I'm convinced that you cannot find good bbq in New Orleans.

I haven't had it. Just a bunch of mediocre bbq.

Have you tried NOLAsmokehouse or 12 mile limit?

Ate Nola Smokehouse at Ave Pub a few weeks back. Undercooked brisket made me gag. Threw it out. Pulled pork was alright. Could have used more aggressive seasoning. Sides weren't good. Sauces they offered didn't impress me.

Never been to 12 mile limit.

Did you have a chance to try McClure's while they were cooking out of Dante's?
