Equal talents.

Pierre had a few things going against him to where he couldn't put up monster season like deuce

you people are killing me here.... Deuce and it's not even close for one reason. He used to carry the ball 20-25 times per game plus 3-5 receptions EVERY GAME! There were years when he was like 65% of our offense. It was Joe Horn and him and that's it.

Pierre while very very talented could never take that punishment week in and week out. Plus he has never been the focus of the offense for the opposing defense to key on.

Finally, it's 4th and goal on the 1 with the game on the line who ya giving it to?

PT is the greatest screen-pass-catcher in Saints history. Hell, maybe one of the best ever, he is a simply the master of the screen pass catch.

Other than that, Deuce.

who knows if he could or not?

he never had too. It's not really his fault.

Which is why i said... talent wise, they are fairly equal. Pierre always had other RBs to share carries.

Pierre is a career 4.8 YPC running back. And he is one of the 3 best screen RB's in the league.

you're memory might be a little off. He had like 2 seasons where he was able to do this and stay fully healthy.

That Deuce was great - but the 2006 2007 Deuce was inferior to 2009 Pierre Thomas.

But that's not the question. The question was "who in their prime"? Easily, Deuce. Really not that close.

Anyone that says PT has never watched Deuce play a game

In their prime, in today's game I would take PT over Deuce.

PT is a more complete package RB IMO.

2 seasons over 300 carries. like i said.

he never played a full season after those 2 seasons.

I love em both. But Pierre has been one of the most underrated guys in the Payton era. He is great.

if you compare the 2, the only thing Deuce did better than Pierre was be able to break away once in the 2nd level. But that trait died after a few years, unfortunately.

Everything, they are pretty much equals.
