I told myself to sell at 617 (arbitrarily months ago) then it zoomed so fast to 640 I had to hold it.

Same here... with the new iphone set to be announced September 12, and released September 21, I was trying to decide whether there would be a significant bounce in September or not. Their 3Q profits may be sort of low, but their 4Q, from what I've read, may be their biggest one yet.

anyone else seeing some chatter about apple doing some apple splits in maybe the next 6 months. You know whats better than 100 apples? 600 apples!

I heard something about this.
I read that because Kraft is spliting its grocery business off, it is not strong enough to stay on the Dow. Apple would be a viable replacement but due to Apple's $600+ share price, it would make up 25% of the index's value. The article said that a 10:1 split would put apple at the right price to be added to the Dow.

yeah but then that would change up their dividend payments. I think a 10:1 split is a bit much but I could see a 3:1 or 4:1 split

I am tempted to sell myself. At what point is the iphone 5 hysteria built into the price? I think that is when you sell.

it is, but how much expectations is built in already and where do sales line up comparatively speaking. AAPL will be in 700's before the world ends, possibly in 800's.

Well I bought 2 shares for my daughter for her first christmas. (she was only 4 months old) I bought them for her around 240/share. Too bad I'm an idiot and didnt buy more.
