It could come on November 3rd, if everything lines up correctly.

84 wins will give him sole possession of #2 all-time in wins, ahead of Bernie Moore (83) and behind Mac (137).

There is zero room for error, but Bama is the 9th game this year. IF LSU wins 9 straight to open a season, it will only be the third time since 1958, the others being in 1973 and 2011.

If he stays through 2017, passes CMac and wins another title, I think we have to build the statue.

It is doable, but it is 10 wins a year. While Bernie's number of 83 is almost certainly going to fall this year (or - in in a catastrophic scenario, next year), Mac's 137 is still 62 more than Miles has currently.

He looks so young. Im sure he will. He is probably to the age where he doesn't want to move around but I think he sticks it out.

That would be pretty sweet to move into #2 by remaining undefeated and beating Bama.

If we would have won the title last year, would we have built a statue this year? I think if he pulls down two more national championships, he gets one.

i don't think anyone should get a statue while they're still at the school

Down the line, I think they should rename the stadium "Les Miles grass at Tiger Stadium"

if he wins a couple more titles and maintains the program for the next decade, LSU definitely names something after him. Likey they field. The irony......

Rename South Stadium after him rather than a statue.

Not a question in my mind. Miles will be the best coach we've ever had. At the very least, one of them.

Miles is a great coach for LSU. Regardless, he should have some monument after he leaves the school given what he's done.

That's what got me thinking.

Also, as far as staying to catch Mac's record - certainly 2017 or 2018, barring a collapse that likely gets him fired anyway - he will only be 65 years old during the period around the Bama/MSU/Ole Miss traditional time frame in 2018.

What if 84 and 138 end up being against Bama?
