I like us being at 3 rather than 1. We can take 1 from them when we meet me them in November. Takes a bit of the monkey off our back and we have still a little bit to climb.

how the frick are they gonna rank a team number one with that many players who left from a year ago. LSU wouldn't even be in the top 5 had they lost what bama lost. Unbelievable.

Like many have said, if Bama thumps Michigan they'll move to 1 anyway. I like it when the Tigers are ranked #1 in any poll, but if not we'll be ok..

So now when Bama loses to LSU for the third straight year they will only drop to #2. Yup Bama will be in the NC again. Do y'all really expect 11/3 to count any more than 11/6/11?

pre-season rankings are overrated IMO if we win all our games we are going to the national championship no questions asked. Even if there are 3 no loss teams, LSU will be at worst #2, no-one would rank two teams in front of LSU after beating a probable number 1

I'm not surprised. I'll also not be surprised when we make it out of September 5-0 and not in the top 5. The Alabama - Southern Cal lovefest is at full throttle but some new media darling, or even Oklahoma will start to leap us each week, "as LSU struggles without Tyrann Mathieu" or "is still in disarray after the BCS Title game."
One thing is for sure, if LSU is to play in the BCS title game, we better be unbeaten. We darn sure aren't getting a mulligan or second chance.
