Are they making a 3rd one?
Yea, but I am not sure how it is going to turn out. They decided to go the whole 2-player route and that portion of the game is going to basically be firefight. There will still be the main single player campaign, though. I'm just hoping that the 2-player doesn't take away from the single player.

As long as they maintain the same level of creepiness, it will be great.

I still think the first one was better than the 2nd. The 2nd did have some scares and the child xenomorphs scared the crap out of me, but they went for more explosions/action than I would have liked.

They could really make a Resident Evil like franchise out of this game if they do it right and stick to what makes the game great rather than try to one up the previous game every installment.

It came from playing the game on the hardest difficulty. The amount of ammo is insanely low and it just became 2nd nature.

Hopefully it won't but who knows. I don't mind a little co-op every once in a while. I actually enjoyed that older game Mercinaries on co-op. Had a blast.

I always had a spike or xenomorph claw on hand when I entered a room. Its a good way to stab someone to the wall and avoid using ammo.
This was a great strategy! It's even an achievement in the 2nd game.

I agree. There are times that I enjoy playing co-op. Resident Evil 5 was a fun game on co-op.

Dead Space is supposed to be a suspenseful mindfrick from start to finish. I remember playing the first one at night with surround sound and getting so creeped out that I would actually check over my shoulder in my living room.

I just hope they don't shorten the single player game in order to institute a co-op game mode.

I won't lie, there were times when I was playing Dead Space and I was wishing to myself that I had a partner with me.

In Dead Space 1, for the first 2 hours I was shitting and shitting. So scary. Especially before you get the Plasma Cutter. But after that, it ceased to be scary IMO

I think it still had its moments. Nothing was scarier than the first part of the game though.

One reason that I liked Dead Space 1 over 2 is that it always felt like there was a xenomorph behind me, and at times when you turn around, there fricking was.

Definitley a lot less attacks form behind imo. Right now I'm focusing on upgrading my rig then I will go hard on one weapon. How does the plasma cutter stack up against bosses fully upgraded?

It does well against them. Its main use is for taking out the legs/arms of the underlings. If you get to full upgrade, it does good enough damage to take out the bosses weak points.

I had put it away but I guess I might grab it again after I'm done upgrading my rig. How far did you guys go with upgrading the rig? I don't see me needing to upgrade air all the way.

Its been a while since I played it, but I don't remember upgrading the air all the way. The most important things are health, stasis, and kinesis, if I remember right.

This was my biggest complaint about DS2. It didn't feel as cramped and the audio was not on the same level as Dead Space. What made dead space so great was the fact that it was so claustrophobic and there was always the sound of something sneaking up on you just out of your field of view, even if there wasn't. I was constantly turning around and looking over my shoulder in Dead Space, and that didn't happen nearly as much in DS2. Dead Space was one of the few games I've played that was so nerve racking I could only play for so long before I felt physically exhausted.

I hardly ever use kenisis. I need to get a little better with it. I impale the shite out of people though. You guys are right about not having to look over your shoulder as much in this one. Still a good game though.
