Well it was said that Lyanna was a natural on a horse because of her wolfs blood. When Jon is in aw of his own skill on the horse it's put in the italicized thought form. I noticed in George's writing that he italicizes the thought of characters not just to distinguish it from dialog, but to subtly emphasize importance like we normally do when we read something italicized. So I think that this is a small important nod to the readers that says: hey, do you see the parallel?

I've noticed that when people discuss these theories that they feel like George has made it "too easy" to figure these plot points out. So in turn, with his grey shaded world and things always seeming to be a complex mystery, that he wouldn't make it so easy to figure his grand scheme. But if you'll look at the chapters with green seers you'll notice he telegraphs what is going to happen next. He did it with Jojen and he did it with Heart Hill. Someone asked in this thread or another if George is pissed because big reveal is ruined and I said I doubt because good writers want intelligent people to read their stories. And if the R+L=K is his big reveal then I think he's sitting back thinking "thank god dumbasses don't read my books because I've given them a fun mystery for them to try and solve and they done a great job of putting the pieces together to get their conclusion. Now, wait till they see who ends up on the Iron Throne."

I certainly hope George wouldn't be mad at people discussing theories on here, Westeros.org, Reddit, etc. All the evidence is present in the books, and the show to some extent. And if he is pissed, well that's his damn problem for not writing the books faster.

I'd like to think/I want Jon to be king at the end of the series, but I'm not sure if that's too "obvious"/have my doubts. The Hodors think Dany is going to be Queen but I don't see that happening; that's even more obvious than Jon sitting the throne (which from a Hodor perspective, would be very surprising to see Jon on the throne, but to us, it's expected). I started my 'rewatch of all 3 seasons' project about 2.5 weeks ago--I just watched S2E10 2 days ago and S3 E1 last night (and I'll watch S3E2 & S3E3 tonight)...the HotU scene differs greatly from the books to the show, but the show version shows the Red Keep in ruin (probably from Cersei burning it down with wildfire), and the throne room is covered in snow. That scene convinced me thet winter is going to extend well below the Neck and probably cover all of Westeros, including Dorne and the Reach. Dany walks to the throne, but doesn't touch it. David and Dan know the endgame--she's going to get *this* close to becoming Queen, but something is going to happen that prevents her. I tend to think she's going to die during the final battle against the Others.

Hmm I need to start my reread of the series sooner than later. That's a great observation .

Regarding Jojen, does it have to do with him knowing when he dies and Bran eating the Jojen paste? And Ghost of High Heart, when she's talking to Arya about Summerhall and the prophecies?

The Jojen parts in Clash are the ones about the sea coming to Winterfell and Bran and Rickons faces being removed with "Reek" wearing them. That's what I was referring to as far as telegraphing what he says. There's only three Bran chapters in the fist half of Storm and there's not much talk about Jojen's dreams in those. I haven't gotten to the forth Bran chapter yet so I can't really say.

The Heart Hill chapters, I mean, you got go back and read those and you'll see that they basically tell you exactly how things go down. From Balon's death to Catelyn's resurrection in the first visit. Then in the second visit, grey wind dying and the purple wedding. Also Hoat's demise.
