Tyrion will know that they have no shot at conquering the realm outright, but fortunately Dany will have the opportunity to save the realm from the Others. Tyrion will first join his forces to Jon Snow's, and then hopefully absorb Sansa's as well once Littlefinger is eliminated. Dany and Jon will save the realm, while Aegon hides behind the walls of King's Landing to his true uncle's and father's insistence. It will lead to his destruction.
ETA: So how far do y'all think the Others will get past the Wall once it falls? Past Winterfell? the Eyrie? the Twins? Riverrun? King's Landing? Dorne, even?
What if an Other kills Walder Frey?

It will end where this began: The Trident. They'll make it well past Winterfell, and they'll make through the Neck effortlessly since the swamps will be completely frozen over. The Trident will be the last stand.

Mace Tyrell cast????
I definitely didn't imagine Mace Tyrell looking anything like that, but granted I don't imagine Stannis to look the way he does in the series.

I imagine mace being a fat guy. Not as big as a Manderly but pretty stout.

I imagine him with a significant beer gut.

Yeah, same here. Kind of picture Mace to be a cross between Manderly and Robert Baratheon in terms of gut size/build.
ETA: Maybe the guy was cast as the Magnar of Thenn?? Or an Iron Bank rep?
I don't think they'd deviate that far from Mace in terms of physical appearance/stoutness.

With a talent like Gatiss, I am sure he is Mace Tyrell. He is too proper looking to be Styr.

I'm just glad I caught up. I've never read a set of books as consecutive as I did these. Nonstop for 3 weeks.
DwD was tough too. Dany's chapters in the first half were almost unbearable. Theon's was easily my favorite.

Turning the page and getting a Dany chapter, that's like getting coal for Christmas.

Can't wait to see who they cast as the Sand Snakes.

Have about 100 pages left in Dragons and have been feeling that way since I started the book.
Many of the posters/readers believe that in the last 2 books (post Storm) there are 4 people with Targaryen blood.
Is Tyrion the only one that has seen all 4?

Who are the 4?
Dany
Aegon
Jon
Who is the 4th? Varys? Jaime or Cersei? Himself?

My guess...the Others win and take over Westeros.

As cruel as GRRM is, I doubt he'd do that. It would be incredibly anticlimactic end and make the series a waste of time.

Newman from Seinfeld should be Mace Tyrell.
Posted on 7/17/13 at 8:01 pm to OMLandshark
Agreed. George has always said that the series will have a "bittersweet" ending...some good with the bad. I doubt the Others will take over Westeros and everyone dies. They'll be defeated but at the cost of some of our favorite characters.

Yep. I am convinced that Arya won't make it to the end. She will have a huge role, but die.
I will burn the book at that point.
