He travels all the time it seems like. I don't blame him for wanting to enjoy his money and success, but 6 years is crazy. He wrote the first 3 books in 4 years. Then books 4 and 5 took 11 years to release; that's absurd. Although, I would think that with the show he should feel some pressure to have book 6 done by late 2014 and to want to release book 7 before he croaks.
Oh, and during my read, I see how Jon says women should shave. Is GRRM foreshadowing to the cave scene?

Some part of the first book before leaving for the nights watch. He says women should shave . Doubtful that Westerosi and wildling women shave.

Wow, I so have no memory of this...within the first 100 pages?
Not calling you out, just wondering how virgin Snow knew they didn't shave
Speaking of Jon-(spoiler to follow, my lady)
Saw on Wstros board a thread about Mel looking for AA in the flames...and her saying something like "I see only Snow..." With a capital "S" they were making quite a big deal about this overt reveal. I wish I knew where it was-Swords, I think- but I thought she actually saw Jon in the flames anyway- so I don't get the "big reveal" claim in this context. Anyone remember this "S" deal?

Yeah, don't remember this either, but the first book is the one I've read the least.

Yeah, it sounds vaguely familiar, but like you I don't see how it really matters. Mel straight up says in ADWD that everytime she tries to see AA in her flames during ADWD timeline Jon is the only one who shows up.

But why did she always see Stannis and then all of a sudden see Jon? I thought her visions were always accurate?

To get to Jon, she may have had to find Stannis first?

Aye, that's true.
Also, I want a Hodor POV in books 6 and 7.

Aside from prologue/epilogue chapters, does anyone think we'll get another POV character? The only one who I can think of is Loras, who I feel pretty confident isn't remotely injured or anywhere near Dragonstone.

what is the acceptible time to start discussing the next episode?
I started two earlier than the last week's episode and no one complained. The one Fox started last week, the first two pages were complaints it was too early.
I want to talk some Bear Pit action.

Wait until Sunday...guarantee this won't happen though.

Pretty damn safe bet.

Why is it okay to discuss a show six days after it aired, but not the day before?
If the discussion is about the episode, then what is the issue?
So what if it has pages before the show starts? The discussion during the show is the worst part. It's the build up and the after talk that is great.
Why bump a week old thread when a new one can be made?

Also, I don't really have GoT on the mind but I wake up Saturday morning like its the day before a saints game

I wonder if Hodor, think's in "hodors".
quote:
In reality, Hodor is actually a brilliant thinker who masterminded the War of Five Kings in order to give himself an opportunity to sieze the throne for himself. He has had a long standing alliance with the White Walkers and is going to promise them land and power when their undead armies aid him in taking Westeros.
