How many chances are enough?

There is only person throughout all of this that controlled his destiny and because that person did not hold up his end of the bargain many of you have decided to blame the coach, the administration, the policy.
How many chances are enough?
Where is the personal accountability?
Was TM misled about the consequences?
In your own life, how many chances do you give a cheating spouse? a lying child? any habitual abuser of your rules and principles?
Which brings up the next point. All you weed lovers that keep using this as a political launching pad, the fact remains (for now) it IS illegal. Besides, regardless of the legal issues, it is a team rule and a school policy and this has never been a secret.
Some of you want LSU to do what many other schools have done. Find a loophole, cover something up, do whatever it takes to keep the player on the field of play. Unfortunately many athletes end up in these situations because teachers, professors, coaches, administrators lack the courage to do the unpopular, tough thing.
I am going to miss TM greatly. Loved watching that talent at work, but he did this to himself.
What do you think was said after the first offense? the second? the third?
What is a good point at which negotiations should cease?
This all could have been avoided. One person had COMPLETE control of this situation throughout.
I wish TM the best. I will always be a supporter of his, but I will not tear down the University or its policies that gave him every chance to succeed.

This. Sorry, but I just don't get all warm and fuzzy about booting our best player for breaking a silly rule against doing something that should be legal anyway.

So if LSU holds itself to a higher standard, that is a bad thing?

How many chances would you want if he was your son?

Children should understand there are consequences for their actions.Unfortunately, many parents dont impart this knowledge to their children.
Unlimited chances will never help anyone find the right answers. Not my children and not yours.
It's part of loving your child and preparing them to be self reliant adults.

I hope one day when you make a mistake or two someone in your life, professional career, etc say frick you that you have had enough chances. Everyone deserves a shot at redemption in their lives...outside of murdering someone that is.
