Where is the personal accountability?
Was TM misled about the consequences?

Which brings up the next point. All you weed lovers that keep using this as a political launching pad, the fact remains (for now) it IS illegal. Besides, regardless of the legal issues, it is a team rule and a school policy and this has never been a secret.

well the policy actually says he gets 1 more chance. The personal accountability and consequences would be him sitting out a year and paying his own way

What do you think was said after the first offense? the second? the third?

if this was his fourth offense, LSU's hands are tied and probably violated our own policy which is against NCAA rules

I don't smoke Marijuna, but if he got kicked off for 3 failed drug test bc of Marijuna I am cool with a one year suspension and another chance.

honestly I am not sure why we test for Marijuna who gives a shite?

That's called a SECOND chance and I believe everyone deserves that.

You know there are quite a few success stories out there where the person who was on the wrong path says they had to suffer consequences to change their ways.

Wake up calls vary in volume...some people are a little harder to wake up.

With everything TM had at stake it still wasnt enough.

You guys would make excuses like this for your son?

This is the natural order of how things work. What world do you live in??

If (insert any professional) has an issue with drugs or ETOH they are subject to potentially losing their career/license/reputation for a single offense much less repeated ones.

Even though the OP statement is unpopular, it is spot on. I enjoy watching TM7 as much as anyone, but it is an important life lesson that he will hopefully better himself from (big bad world don't care).

Enabling him and giving him free passes (as you imply) will only set him up for future failure...

so sitting out a year, losing his scholarship, and paying his own way aren't considered consequences?

He didn't imply a free pass at all. A shot at redemption doesn't come free

Where is it stated that he doing this?
It's one possibility and I would respect the hell out of that.

Hasnt he had this already?
How many shots at redemption does it take?

All anyone ever learns from repeated chances is that they can repeatedly get away with things and they are an exception to every rule.

Exactly. He will pay the price by sitting out a year and paying his own way in school.

It is stickied to the top of the page. That is what ALL this speculation is about. There is no other way he can come back. It would be a NCAA violation as teams have to enforce their drug policy. That basically just told me you came and started this thread without knowing anything that happened today.

The LSU Policy says 1st strike is counceling, 2nd strike is 10% of the games, 3rd strike is a year without any athletics, 4th strike you're ineligible

Some of you have lost all common sense when it comes to this situation.

It's just a lil weed....stupid rules....cmon give him another chance.

unreal...I really loved watching him play. Hell, I enjoy his controversial personality, but the fact remains. He had MULTIPLE chances and continued to roll the dice.

Just as an added point here, I cant help but think there is more to this story than a 3rd violation. Maybe not, but I wonder.

It's a possibility as I stated in my previous reply to you.
Your reading comprehension needs work.

I really want this kid to be able to play. I acknowledge that if allowed to sit out for 1 year and work his way back onto the team, it would be speak volumes of his character.

The question is does he deserve the right to do this?

It is hard for us as fans and this board to be objective regarding this.
