So, did Miles have a choice?

several comments about TM7 being kicked out of school and/or being booted b/c of NCAA rules
Has anyone confirmed these? Did Miles have a choice or was TM7 gone even if Miles said he could stay?

The million dollar question.

I don't think I have seen anybody say "ncaa rules" only team and school rules.

i thought he was asked if it was a team violation or ncaa violation and he said both..?? i could be wrong maybe he was asked if it was school or football team.??
but for some reason i believe it was just team.
who knows.. it depends what he was tested for..
synthetic weed is not an ncaa violation.. but it is a team violation at LSU..

That's not what the gumps on the SEC Rant are saying.
For the record it's still speculation.

After what the NCAA just did to Penn St for their cover-up, I'm glad LSU didn't try to cover-up the most recent of TM7's off of the field issues.

If he violated team rules and this was a team decision, that's what would have een said.
Because it was said he violated school rules/policy, the most rational assumption is that he was being dismissed from LSU, and this could not be a member of the football team.

it is a fact that the school itself can trump any coach and toss a student out. the football program can probably handle lots of things internally but some things they cannot. nor should they. penn state comes to mind.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter IMO

No, he didn't have choice! Coach Miles is a great coach and does the right thing, always!

Isn't he expelled from school for this. Didn't the school catch him last year? Miles had no choice if that is true because he would be expelled

My thoughts are that Coach Les Miles is a man of great integrity and we are damn proud to have him running this program. Today's actions were another reminder to me that I should forgive him for his 1-9-12 transgressions and move forward. This man knows what is best for this program and represents LSU in the most respectable fashion possible.

That's the exact comparison I made earlier. This looks to be the perfect example of what defines institutional control.
Not comparing the "crime", but rather the process of due diligence.

Well if Bruce Feldman is correct, then we'll know depending on where TM ends up. Feldman said that if this was a mandated dismissal due to a 3rd strike drug test, then TM isn't eligible to play at any level of NCAA, and would have to go to NAIA or something.
If LSU says that they dismissed him, but he was still eligible, then he can drop down to FCS and play right away.

Odell Beckham Jr. or Russel Shepard should IMO

Nobody knows what he was caught doing this year or last year so nobody can say. All we know is miles said TM was no longer a part of the football team.

the ncaa only test for performance enhancing drugs, not mary jane, etc. its the school's job.
