Anyone been to one of these places and what were your thoughts? Any feedback is well appreciated. Menu's for both look great but was looking for someone that has actually been on one of them.

Babbo. It is definitely a treasure. Intimate and warm, excellent service, creative and well executed menu. Been many times and never been disappointed. I have not been to L'Artusi and cannot comment on it.

Thanks for the feedback. You have any brunch recommendations? I've been to New York several times and most of the trip is mapped out as far as eating goes with the exception of whether we go to Babbo or L'Artusi and where we should go for brunch.

My NY foodie friends do everything short of come on themselves when describing Babbo.

One of the best brunches as far as food was concerned lately has been Crema in Chelsea. Great food, nice presentation, and very relaxed and non-bustly. Sometimes you want the bustle and the scene and sometimes you don't. Balthazar in Soho has great food anytime of day. For something different you might want to try Marseille on 9th Avenue or Chez Josephine on 42nd St.(best at night though). Also one of the best lunches (and values) in the city is at Gotham Bar and Grill IMO. Enjoy yourself.

Beef cheek ravioli
The grilled octopus
Both were great. The latter was outstanding

I've been to both and both are great. If you can get into Babbo, go. If not L'Artusi is very very good and you won't be disappointed.
For brunch go to Balthazar. It will be crowded but it's solid and a good time.

Only place mentioned in here I have been is Balthazar, and it is indeed a nice little spot for any time of day.
I also enjoyed lunch last time I was in town at the rooftop beer bar at Eataly.
If you need a dinner rec I highly suggest Public in Nolita. Fantastic place.

Did Babboo a few months ago. Did the pasta tasting menu with the wine pairings. It was expensive but awesome. 5 courses of pasta and 3 sweeter courses. Full wine glasses with each course. Definitely a lotta booze to drink. Every dish was excellent and different from the others. I would definitely recommend it.

Thanks for all the recommendations. We had reservations at both and after this I think Babbo will be the call.
