Anyone know round about pricing for sand to be delivered? I need about 300yrds delivered to slidell. I'll take recommendations on who to use as well. Thanks in advance.

How deep and how wide?

3'-5'???
Very deep for sand. And very expensive.
3' clay, 1-2' sand? Cheaper.

I just had my bulkhead replaced and most of the yard washed away. I was told put down sand first then clay. I thought that was backwards, but I know nothing about this. I know it won't be cheap though.

I pay 3 bucks a ton for sand right now, but I buy a lot of tonnage daily.

Delivered? Anywhere near Slidell?

I truck it myself. Call Southern Aggregates in Denham Springs, they may be able to help you out.

I'm looking to fill in flower beds. Will river sand work for this? or do I need "real dirt"

That's closer to 600 cubic yards.

Don't do it. That sand will be full of weed seeds...

I'm planning on using clay for the rest

What are you doing that you need 3-5' of sand?

Just had my bulkhead replaced, most of my backyard had washed away. Someone recommended that i put down sand first then clay. Would you recommend something different? I have no clue.

Someone quoted me $10/yard. Didn't know if that was a fair price. Def better than the $30 though.

Fill that sumbitch with anything you can get free off Craigslist then add your sand/clay/topsoil/whatever. I suggest concrete, broken bricks, cinder blocks, whatever you can get to fill the void. All the important biological activity that is fundamental to your grass and plants growing is found in the top 12" of topsoil anyway.
