Garland Gillen live tweeted it:

quote:

Garland Gillen ?@garlandgillen

Demps: We wanted to fill our center position. Lopez fits in our timeline. #Hornets

Demps expect Rivers to be back for Training Camp. # Hornets

Demps wouldn't say if Anderson will play at the 3 or 4. Said Monty will make that decision. # Hornets

Xavier Henry had knee surgery. Dell Demps said he should be ready for camp. # Hornets

Per CBA rules. Dyson couldn't return to the #Hornets for one year if Suns release him.

Demps said they're almost done with moves. # Hornets

Demps said the young #Hornets will take some bumps and bruises, but will also give them.

love that .gif

How about we pick up like no team options except the general and either x or afa. Fill out roster with Lance, bowles, and miller ect. Save up money for a swingman or pg next year and draft the other need position with a solid draft pick selection.

Anything else will be minor. Filling up the roster spots with vet minimums, etc.

sometimes minor moves like those become bigger than just filling spots.

demps has pushed every right button so far. I am sure he continues this trend..

hope he and monty get extensions soon

I wonder if Fletcher Mackel has finally gained some trust in Demps?

Jim Eichenhofer just tweeted his coverage of the presser. Mostly the same but a few other details.

quote:

Jim Eichenhofer ?@Jim_Eichenhofer

Demps on Lopez: "He fits in with our timeline, a young player with experience in the league. We felt we needed to fill the center position."

Demps on Warrick: "A veteran who will add to our frontcourt depth. He has the ability to score, athleticism and quickness."

Demps said decision on Anderson playing SF will be Monty's. Hornets will put best talent on floor; not preoccupied with naming of positions

Demps said possibility of Warrick shift to small forward - where minutes may be more available than PF - will be determined in training camp

Lopez in NOLA but had Fri. flight, couldn't attend press conf. Demps:"He's thrilled to be here, looking forward to being part of our future"

Demps: "I think we're almost there but we haven't finalized our roster. We're close. I think we'll have a couple more signings before camp."

Demps: "We made an organizational decision to build for future. We're putting together a young core we'll have an opportunity to watch grow"

How about picking up another guard such as Willie Green.

We pick up Bowles, Thomas, Roberts, and Millerm and this is a set team. Would love Willie Green/ Meeks but don't see it happening. Henry is good enough.

SG-Gordon/Rivers/Henry
SF-Anderson/Aminu/Warrick
PF-Davis/Smith//Warrick
C-Lopez/Smith

If Peja's slow arse could play SF for the Hornets for so long, I dont see a problem at all with Anderson playing it.

He's trying to build for the future, not win a championship next season.
