I went last weekend again. Had the crab cake which was very good, serious amount of crab(but you pay for it), and the sea bass special with risotto. Everything was very good. Good meal and good service.

The only thing I found interesting was that they used what appeared to be cous cous instead of arborio rice, but cooked in a risotto type manner. Still good. I've never seen that.

How much dinner for two? I don't care just need to know what to bring.

A debit card?

Apps 8 to 10. Entrees run between 20 and 30.

I wasn't thrilled with the menu there. I got the BBQ shrimp. It was a huge entree, but just good, not anything more.

I've been 4 or 5 times and it's generally in the $110-$150 range before tip with an app and a bottle of wine.

Meh, but not many other options that really excite me in this town.

I've always gone w/ their fish and it's always been good. Some of the other dishes have been meh for some of the people I've been with though.
Boudin egg rolls are a decent twist too.

Expensive, but the food is pretty good. Was worth it when I went using a groupon.

Lunch menu is more reasonable.

And it looks like a cafeteria to me. Dont like the atmosphere for an expensive place.

You are right about this.

I read they have plans to expand into the available space next door to open up the bar area and I assume add more dining, as well.

You wait tables at Bernadette's and despise Le Creole. Not sure anyone on this thread championed them as the best food one can enjoy but many seem to respect it. Can you add anything else to your in depth review? Have you dined outside the prestigious Gonzales area?

We've been a few times. The first time we went I got a special. It was a lobster pasta and it was very very good. The husband got the shrimp and grits and said it was pretty good. We also got the crepes for our appitizer. A small portion but the sauce was extremely good. I could eat a whole basket of the bread! My favorite dessert is the Banana Bread Pudding. It's a huge portion and melts in your mouth. We both ate on it and brought over half of it home for our daughter and she loved it. We've been back a few times and just got two more half off deals from WAFB. My daughter asks continually to go get their dessert.

First things first: you dont know me--im not even from Gonzales; i'd say do your research.
Secondly: le creole-- fine dining prices, NOT fine dining cuisine, or quality for that matter, although service though wasnt bad.
Thirdly: Grits? with everything? kind of simple and peasant eh?

wayne stabiler needs to stick with what he knows, and its not haute cuisine. city cafe is more in his league.
let me know when le creole gets one of these
