The only complaint I have is Bane's death. His character deserved so much more than to be shot out of the blue. Batman should have won the final fight with him straight up

agreed. that was a fricked up way to end him. thought about that while driving home. it's almost a "what the frick happened to bane, oh yeah, he just gets blown away by the batbike"

Well Bane was pretty much beating the piss out of batman both major fights with the exception of Bane's mask starting to malfunction.

wonder why that was.....

Nah, Batman definitely had the upper hand for the fight on the steps outside

Batman should have broken him down via the mask breaking.
His character was too damn powerful and badass to go
Out that way.

Batman bested him then talia interfered
When i took my seat I thought she was talia then I thought they were not going to follow the comics and that she really was just a Wayne Ent board member so I was still a little surprised. When batman gave her the gun and told her to cover the entrance I knew she was talia again

bane's mask malfunctioned because the goddamn batman beat the shite out of it.
I thought Batman handled the 2nd fight pretty well. He's supposed to outsmart the villains

I know I'm fighting a losing battle here but in the beginning of the second (and last) fight btw Batman and Bane, it almost looked to me in the beginning Bane was again toying with Batman. Obviously, Batman got the better of Bane with fricking his mask up and it going downhill from there for Bane, but as far as ranking assbeatings, Bane beat the shite out of Batman substantially more in the first fight than Batman beat Bane in the second.

I understand that. I'm just coming from a sheer physicality standpoint. Bane is nasty.

Bane was beating the shite out of him at 1st, that is def true. Fight turned around before the mask got damaged IMO. The fight sequence by bane right after that was downright scary
no doubt

Bane is nothing without his mask though. That is the true Batman. His super power is his brain, his wealth, and his strengh.

i don't think the mask gave him super strength in Nolan's world. The mask was to handle pain. He was plenty strong without the mask

That's kind of what I liked about this film, though. Not necessarily that Bane's death was somewhat anticlimactic, but that the film didn't revolve around him...unlike TDK and the Joker.
It was a complete conclusion to the story arc established in Begins - specifically, the League of Shadows and their purpose of resetting Gotham's sociopolitical infrastructure.
This was more of a sequel to Begins as opposed to TDK.

No but it let him function without pain. Take away the mask and the pain from his injuries make him helpless.

His wealth was depleted, and he was physically inferior to Bane.
The film painted a pretty clear picture that Batman is "Batman" because of his spirit. That was the whole point of his "rise" out of the pit.

That's a legit complaint, although I was more perturbed at the fact that Wayne assumed the role of Batman for like maybe 30 minutes total, and Michael Caine was gone for almost all the movie.
Oh, and would anyone else have liked to see a more open ending? Maybe just end the movie with Alfred smiling and make it implied he saw Bruce alive in Florence?

This was handled so piss poor by Nolan. george Lucas must have written that scene. Seriously how do you mess that up? People don't want to see a minor female character be the one who kills the unstoppable bad guy and do it in such an unsatisying way. INEXCUSABLE NOLAN> you dropped the ball

I was a little surprsied that Bruce didn't chastise her for shooting him, but the fact that he has guns on any of his vehicles is a little strange to me.
Completely different topic:
I know music themes are repeated in trilogies, but I really felt like there were times when music cues were EXACTLY the same and lifted straight from the first two films. Other than Bane's theme, it seemed like the tracks were just copied and pasted. That put me off a little.
