I'm on the Lafayette Parish Assessor's website, which lets you search properties to get appraisals, tax info, property transactions etc. How can I search and find the actual owner of the property? Do I need to go to the city hall or some place?

The owners name should be on the tax information. If it is in the name of the LLC, you should search the probate records for the name of the LLC and it will show names.

Easiest way is to google parish tax rolls. First link should get you what you need

The tax rolls that are online usually do not show the owner in my experience, but they are a good place to start if you know the address. At the bottom of the tax data sheet or whatever it will usually allude to the identification number for the conveyance record that will show you who the owner is. You can find copies of the conveyance records at the Parish Clerk of Court. Some have records online, but it costs to search them. You can search anything for free in person, but it costs to copy stuff.

Just give the information you have to the OT. They will have all the info you want and more within 1 minute.

Call the assessor with a legal description of the property and they can answer your questions. I have done it many times in EBR.

That is also an option as well... If you send them women doughnuts once a month it really helps your cause

If the online data base does not allow search by address, then in some states you would have to go to the courthouse. Look it up in the map book and get the parcel number and then cross reference.
