I cannot recall Brosnan ever smiling as bond and if he did I feel certain it was a forced smile and not the cocky smart arse smile of Connery or even Moore. Craig is not a good Bond in my opinion although he does follow the personality of the book character very closely.

So they don't smile enough? Right.

well it wasn't Roger Moore

those films generally raked in the dough, even if he was too old for the last couple

Dalton started but it took hold when the humor was removed. Bond films have NEVER been Oscar worthy so you have to take them for what they are. Hot chicks, humor, shootings and some crazed villian(s)

when the series started playing like Rambo 5 is when it lost me. I have enjoyed Craig a little, much better than the last two but the new films could use a dose of sarcasm if nothing else

I don't get the Moore hate. For Your Eyes Only, The Spy Who Loved Me, and Man With the Golden Gun are good movies. They weren't all masterpieces but neither was Thunderball.

Blasphemy! Thunderball is my favorite!

the last Roger Moore movie (A View to a Kill) was awful, and almost destroyed the series permanently IMO. Dalton's movies were ok, but not Bond-like at all. The guy didn't have any style about him.

Brosnan brought the role back to the style of the earlier Moore movies.

Craig's movies are ok, but it's not at all in the spirit of the older movies (to me at least).

My favorite Connery film (and second behind CR). That movie doesn't receive the praise it deserves.

It became a farce of itself while other movies got more serious.

I am the only one in america who probably dislikes the craig bond, not ordering a martini shaken not stirred is a travesty!
Also the gadgets are what made bond and not displaying them in the new movies sucks. I agree that they had gotten kinda stupid on the tail end of the Brosnan bond, but you could dial it back and still keep them.
I like Bronsan, He was a take no prisnors bond and I liked that,
COnney was a balance of everything.
More was good as bond, and I don't get all the hate.
Dalton was so short didn't get his own style but he was ok.
If I am ranking:
Connery
Brosnan
Then take your pick of Dalton, Moore, and Craig.

Bond never went wrong, in my opinion. Sure...it's had its ups and downs, but every movie franchise has those. Some movies just aren't as good as others. The Bond franchise wasn't created to win Oscars. It was created to entertain. And while a few of those films have failed to hit the mark, more still have succeeded to win audiences over.

I like them all pretty much. I've seen every movie, most more than once.

Some of Dalton's and Moore's weren't great. I liked all of Brosnan's except Die Another Day.

After the one frick up with George Lazenby, Moore looked damned good. Wasn't real crazy about Connery as a young JB. Dalton was ok and I actually liked Brosnan and Craig. The problem is that the writers have Bond answering to a female who wants to be his fricking mother. M strives to keep JB on a short leash - aka gripping one testicle.

I actually enjoy the dialogue the two share. I did with Brosnan and M as well.

Moore - the opposite. I fricking hate every one of these. Loved them as a child but now they are almost unwatchable as an adult. I feel like this is where the franchise really started going downhill

Worst of the worst 007 flick has to be Moonraker. What a complete and utter celluloid turd.

A semi-distant second is Octopussy. The Circus scenes make me ill.

Neither of these were (totally) Moore's fault (his age). Just crappy writing.

Nah, the one George Lazenby was in as JB was the smelliest turd of all time. Was a damned goofy looking dorky frick.
