How much is too much LSU passion???

I visited a client today at a plant in Plaq, I bring in lunch for the engineering group, and we're having a conversation about LSU football. During the middle of the conversation a 55 year old man stands up and says that Les Miles is stupid and his arguement points were that 1, he let his 14 yr old daughter go to the best swimming school in the nation(btw it's in Florida) 2, he screwed JL while he was here( compared the screwing to Sandusky at PSU) 3, said Les' sister getting killed in a car wreck shows that it runs in the family...
My question is this, how many people do you think are this delusional about LSU (or any other team) and it runs there life this way? Have any of you come across this, I've lived here for 12 years but I'm from just a short drive away and I've never seen or heard something so crazy.. Have any of you?

2nd I get that he works in a plant but that means nothing, and this guy is an engineer so it's not like he's some backwoods inbreed.

Alright let's go this route - he's fricked in the head. needs to grow up, and get a life. LSU sports is an avocation for us fans - amd certainly not justification for him saying those things about Miles. As my favorite TV character House would say, "He's an idiot!" However, I gather you have already surmised such.

it is same for any big time team college or pro, there is a small percent that are like this, doubt lsu is much more or less than yankees, mets, dodgers, notre dame, nfl, nhl, ncaa etc.

I have a chair with some electrical wires connected to the cap that I would be happy for him to sit in. Right before I flip the switch, I give him a loaf of bread to hold so that the rest of us can have toast and jelly witho ur coffee afterwards.

It just kinda blew me away that people actually can rationalize in their head that death and child molestation are good reference points for your feelings of how a man coaches..
I thought that was just made up stories for movies.. I'm no child and have seen a good bit but today took the cake for the things I've seen compared.
Problem is I have to deal with him because he's a client..
