Are people under the assumption that he would actually be doing more than helping break down film?
People keep throwing out how good a recruiter he is, how terrible his defenses were, how combustible he is. It doesn't matter. He's a glorified grad assistant. He can't recruit off campus, and likely can't recruit on campus. He won't be coaching a position. He won't have final say over anything. He's just an experienced set of eyeballs to give a new angle to the defensive staff.

yeah, I could see people up in arms had we made him our DB coach. But the whole "OMG his D had 70 points put up on it!!" thing is just stupid. A coach with his kind of experience as an intern? Pretty cool IMO and says a lot about the respect he has for Chavis.

Chief's got this. It doesnt matter how inept of a coordinator Steele is, I am not worried.
Chavis knows exactly what and how he wants to do things. This Steele thing is much to do about nothing.
