I'm just telling you what I was told, the kid is a RSFR and stepping in front of 93k+ fans on a Saturday night in death valley is different then playing in front 4k on a Friday.

I'm asking because I really want to know, why do fans WANT this kid to go run 3 or 4 plays a game so that we can have designed runs that every coach in the SEC will pick up on?

1. Because Mett could leave after this season and I'd rather have our QB's next year to have some significant game experience (both Randall and Rivers)

2. Because Mett could get injured we will need both Rivers and Randall to play. Young QB's almost always have a bad day here and there, and having two allows you to swap out to calm down one that has nerves.

3. And if every play is a designed run and our opponents start to key on, it only takes one play-action pass to make that worthwhile.

4. The experience Randall and/or Rivers gets in a game now has a better chance of helping us win a game a year or two from now than it does of costing us a game this year (when Mett has an opportunity to step back on the field and erase any deficit created)

I want to keep reloading rather than rebuilding, and to do that you have to get younger guys some playing time even if they aren't the best man at the position. We do this for every other position on the field. We need to get these guys ready.
