Statements like this make my wiener move:

quote:

“The biggest thing with Zach, he’s very accurate on deep balls,” Kragthorpe says. “He’s got a big arm. He’s going to make the throws outside the numbers on the hash. He’s learning to become a better passer. Everybody knows he can throw the football, but there’s not a lot of guys who can pass it. His fundamentals have gotten a lot better, and he’s throwing better passes and more catchable balls.

quote:

Not only did that fuel the competitive juices, but it also forced Mettenberger to improve. Understandably, the 6'5", 222-pound gunslinger’s confidence is as high as ever after a spring as the Tigers’ leading man.

“When the lights are on and the cameras are on me, that’s when I think I’ll perform the best,” he says. “I’ve prepared myself to be the best quarterback I can be and I think I definitely have the talent and want-to to be one of the best quarterbacks in the country and I hope my hard work pays off this season.

“I like the pressure. It feeds me and keeps me motivated every day.”

Mett has a beautiful pass down field, but I am worried about the routes over the middle and the 10 yard throws. Hoping he can prove me wrong and really make those things work.

Please, Please, elaborate.....I mean from the limited sample(JC) we have it's easy to come to this conclusion correct?

Tell me from your film study, why you feel he can't complete the short and intermediate throws?

+1.

Also, why throw for 10 when you can throw for 50?

Damn man. All SoS was saying is that he is worried about the 10 yard passes. He never said that Mett can't do it. Some of yall on here need to chill on it.

Are you his mouthpiece now? Seriously though, the point of the snarky responses to his "worries" arise from the fact that Mett has barely played, so what gives rise to such worries? Seems pretty baseless at this point.

He obviously hasn't been around Miles enough. Change that to just "the want" and we may have something.

The spring game last year is all I needed to see. He threw about an 8-yard in-route and the ball had so much zip on it it surprised me.

It's not baseless. You just said that Mett has barely played. He could be Bray, Wilson, Murray, and I would still be somewhat concerned about those important 10 yard passes with Mett's limited playing time. This has nothing to do with me doubting his abilities as a QB, but more about the polarizing feeling one is likely to get when stepping between the white lines on a Saturday Night against the SEC's best.

I'm not pissy..........he made a statement(albeit a stupid one at that) about Mettenburger's ability to complete the short pass.

I, for one, can't say much about the kid because we have such a limited sample of his ability. He is a wildcard! BUT, one can assume and see from small amount of snaps we've seen that the short and intermediate throws don't seem to be a problem, IMO.

I just wanted to know what made him think that.
