The game is pretty awesome so far. It's definitely turned more into a 3rd person shooter than the previous games were, but it isn't a bad change. I've been playing solo but this game is going to be tons of fun on co-op.

My friend has DD but can't figure out how to download the demo. What's the trick?

You need to use the code on the back of the manual to download a key for the demo, then you start up DD and download it from the main menu.

Was the sole reason he bought the game to get the RE6 demo? It's a quality game, one of my favorites of the year.
