I used drink like a fish, I have cut back some since my liver was screwing up and I got a gf.

In fact my drinking habits got me an honorary Irish name a few Mardi Gras back from a group of traveling Irishmen. But that story is better told over a pint.

I do know where FinnMcCool's is in New Orleans. I unfortunately reside in Baton Rouge.

As a fellow new guy welcome to this thread. Very good group of supporters here and I've enjoyed being involved in the discussion.

This hasn't been discussed from what I've seen but what are you guys thoughts on the Spirit of Shankly letter to Henry? I'm torn on the whole issue.

It's hard for me to regard SoS as anything other than a group of disgruntled fans who want actual ownership of the club. I'm sure they mean well, but I don't feel the knee-jerk reaction is warranted.

As long as you are of the blue variety, you're OK with me.

I hate how they assume a role of talking for me. Very arrogant bunch.

You do realize, that despite the generalization, its in reference to only the red half.

I find it hilarious that FSG rescued this club from the brink of administration and now the supporters are bitching about the ownership wanting the club to spend within its means. What a bunch of arse clowns.

As long as you operate the Manchester Ship Canal I think its a justified generalization.

So the SoS has supporter ownership as one of its eventual goals. They also complain about rising ticket prices. If they had their wish, we'd be in much worse shape. Do you think a group of supporters who complain about rising ticket prices would pony up the cash needed to push through the Dempsey deal? Don't think so.

The only solution to this is a new stadium. That should be first on their agenda. A new stadium could afford both expensive tickets and cheap tickets, but until then they need the revenue from higher priced tickets to fund these transfers. The stadium issue is one of our absolute biggest weaknesses right now as far as being competitive is concerned.

While I am not as enthused about FSG as I was a couple of years back. I think there is a chance they might get it right. It will however take considerable trial and error. The question is wether the general fans will have that kind of patience.
SOS is really a knee-jerk band of fans but they have the best interests of the club in mind. I do agree with one thing they had to say. The club needs a proper CEO who is well versed in all matters football and can run the club in their absence on the other side of the pond.
