What's new this week with my fellow homebrewers? I just ordered my first all-grain kit from Autin Homebrew. AHS Summer Crisp Ale. Plan to brew next weekend.

About all I did was stabilize my wine. Always fun to stir a carboy full of wine with a cordless drill. That and I stared at my whiskey barrel, wishing it was full.

Racking one into the secondary bucket, racking another into the bourbon barrel.
I need to finish off one of my kegs ASAP.

I always tell people if you can boil water, then you can make beer. It's a lot harder to mess up than you think.
Check out some youtube videos.

Will probably be brewing a Chocolate Hazelnut porter that might end up in our new Bourbon Barrel.

Did you ever get the stand for my barrel by chance?

I haven't. Have they come in yet?

Bottled 5 1-gallon secondary batches. Spilled a half gallon of tequila oak chip beer all over the kitchen.
This was a little over a week ago. Looking forward to trying the beer.
Took a dry hopped ipa and tertiaried it in 1 gal batches:
1.5 gal regular dry hopped ipa
1 gal with oak chips
1 gal with pineapple and kiwi
1 gal with raisens

That's cool. I would like to split up a batch that i plan on using the oak barrel for, when i decide to use it. Just to see the difference in taste.

How do you ferment these batches?
I assume you primary the whole batch, then secondary with the different options, correct?
If not, how do you know how much yeast to add into each 1 gallon fermenter?

He tertiaried each of those 1-gallon batches, so they are basically fermented out with the same yeast in primary.

Boo is correct. I secondaried the whole thing to dry hop it, then i split it into 1 gal batches (actaully two half gallon mason jars).

You just sealed the jars, right? I seem to remember a thread about it when you were debating whether to seal them or put foil on top?
