I would like to see them figure out a way for teams alternate corners or free kicks from a designated spot with an additional 10-15 seconds of play in case there is a rebound opportunity.

If you go first and score, other team has to match. If you go first and miss and they make, you lose.
If you both make, go again.

Why not plausible? Explain your thoughts if you don't mind. The more tired they get the more space on the field. These guys are some of the most fit in the world.

It would be back and forth.

Shoot even games like the US/ Algeria world cup opened up big time late and was very exciting. If penalties had been an option to determine a winner(for group advancement or had it been a knockbout stage games) there is no way that would happen.

The option of pks by default makes at least one team, if not both, blvery conservative.
