Thinking about buying my son and I a couple of kayaks.
Looking for opinions.
He’s 13 and we will mainly be using them for fishing around here (wolf river (ghost river section) and pickwick lake).
I’m thinking a couple of the ascend 128t.

I’d look at the Jackson Bite at $799 before the Ascend 128T at $849, I started in an Ascend but that was back when the sub-$1000 market was Ascends or getting lucky into something used. I’d trust the quality control of the Jackson over the Ascend.

For moving water, stay away from the 128t. It is a barge.
If you're in that ballpark price wise, as mentioned the Jackson Bite is a great option, as is the Old Town Topwater 106 ($899), the Old Town 119 Solo Sportsman ($899), and the brand new Perception Outlaw 11.5 ($699). I'd get any of them over the 128t.
