Last weekend absolutely not. Vandy wasnt better either but they beat us in a series. I tend to stay positive but last weekend the offense was terrible and so was the coaching. Just the absoulute worst weekend to play bad baseball. However when i look at the big picture stony brook doesnt go 7-2 against the 3 sec teams in omaha and they dont win the sec. So overall yes i think LSU has much better talent than SB. However they stepped up when it mattered and LSU didnt. What can you do?

Honestly there are some pretty quirky arguments being used for baseball as a sport. Some could be called biased IMO. LSU wasn't the better team last weekend but you think we are the better team overall. LSU beat SC and Fla so we are the better team. See a flaw there? Maybe Fla fans feel like they are the better team despite losing to us. Seems to me it could go both ways. I think LSU won the SEC with a great pitching staff and a little bit of timely hitting and baseball luck (that we didn't get last year) Overall our hitting is weak. One of the weakest hitting Tiger teams I have ever seem. Frustratingly so. So frustrating that I think I've lost confidence in our coaches ability to improve it. Maybe I've lost some perspective due to the severe sting of missing Omaha with what appeared to be a clear shot at it but we really need some help at the plate. It was a glaring weakness all year. Ok. I'm done.

LSU isn't better than florida or usce. We had the talent to beat them and did over a 3 game series. Stony Brook had 7 players drafted so they had the talent to beat us and they did. We got our asses kicked by a good baseball team just not a better one.

I'll buy all that. No problem with it.

After winning the first game in the regional the team was high as a kite and somehow in the 45 mins between the games they became lethargic and seemed otherwise uninterested in the second game. Thank god for Gaus otherwise it wouldn't have been so close.

then in the third game the guy that we absolutely shelled in extras to win the first looked like fricking Fernando Valenzuela. Baseball is a funny game, I can't recall a very capable LSU team like the one we had this year going into a shell like that. No leaders stepped up and Manieri had the deer in the headlights look the entire third game
