What type of car insurance coverage do you carry?

I currently have 25/50/25 $500 deductible
$0 glass deductible
$30 day rental reimbursement
25/50 uninsured motorist
Both of my vehicles are worth less than 15k.
Is this too much insurance, or should I carry this for repairs to vehicles I damage if I'm liable.
A friend of mine had 100k car insurance and I told him he is lawsuit bait.

A) You can get sued no matter what your limits are.
B) Are you seriously asking if you are carrying too much insurance at 25/50/25 limits? Personally, i'd never carry less than 100/300/100. It'll probably cost you $8 a month to double your limits.

The value of your car has no bearing on what limits you should carry.
Your liability and UM limits have nothing to do with your vehicle's value.
Bump them up. 100CSL or higher if you have any assets or expect to have any in the future.

Do people really not understand how worthless 25k bodily injury per person and 25k property damage limits are...

Easy answer, no.
A broken leg and nose to the other driver and a couple ambulance rides will eat that up quick.
I'd like to see some stats on what %age of vehicles on the road are worth less than $25k.

if you want to shed dollars, i'd suggest keeping your UM at 15/30 and raise your other liability limits to offset costs a little bit. Maybe increase collision deductible to 1,000 see what that saves. That extra $500 shouldn't kill you but having your arse handed to you in a judgement will.

No not trying to save money, just honestly did t know what most carry.
I assumed that if I carried 100k, some shithead lawyer would just go for the cash.
I have been on the recieving end of 30k In medical bills from a wreck when I broke my pelvis. The person who turned in front of me had 10k liability only.
I don't have much assets aside from a retirement account with 25k. I'll look into raising my coverage.

which is why you carry the insurance, not why not to carry the insurance.

Changed to 100/300/100
Um to 100/300
Raised deductible to $1,000
Policy increase $90 every 6 months. Not too bad. Thanks

And if you would have kept same UM limits, you prolly would have barely had an increase if at all.
Raising liability limits don't affect the premiums as much as people may think sometimes.

I keep a $100 deductible, with 100/300/100, UM & I pay about $110/month.

Very rarely do people take advise and then actually follow through.
I can't tell you how many customers I have with nice houses, businesses, high-paying occupations, etc, that still carry 15/30 or 25/50.

I'll mark this down as a MT success.
Additionally, it's probably the first ever MT success flown solo by Chad.

$250/500 with an umbrella (not included in monthly car note) cost me $119 month on a 2 month old car...
