Did they say anything about Tyler Johnson throwing 220 pitches in 4 days or 300+ in 8???

They should be questioning all the pitches stony brooks ace threw in the past week
I agree with this

I think it was a good call. If I were Gausman I would have been begging for the chance to get two wins in one day and send my team to the CWS. That's how legends are made. Wasn't his pitch count similar to SB's pitcher?

LSU did not do anything wrong. Stoney brook throwing their ace that much in the last week could be something to bitch about if he would have been a high round pick

After getting the game 1 win, I would have probably saved KG for game 3. Woulda rolled the dice w/ Eades & had KG in our back pocket for today.
I also think if SBU woulda got the game 1 win they would have definitely saved Tyler Johnson for game 3.

Yep. If there was a little league pitch count, we would have them by their stony brooks.

I'm assuming this is KG's response.

Part of the college baseball is not big is because of jackasses like that. Another reason I loath MLB. How many HS pitchers go through much worse for a state ship with nothing said?

I loved Gausman starting inning 12. BUT tought we should then rest him. Just didn't feel good about him being able to win both and it would give SB more time to figure him out.

i know keith law rails about misuse of college pitchers all the time on ESPN, and he's not wrong. his logic being that at some point, the market for talent would tilt to the schools that balance the program's success w/ the kid's future success. i've heard him say a number of programs have terrible reps at the big league level for burning out pitchers -- rice w/ wayne graham is one i remember him discussing in some detail.
however, the specific thing he's talking about is exactly what a number of posters have brought up -- using pitchers like Stony Brook did, not the fluke scenario that played out yesterday.

He was dialed in the second game until the rains came and he had trouble gripping the change-up. He held them to 3 runs. We should be able to score more than that.
As a side note, the ESPN arse that made those comments does not like the college game to begin with. I think his name is Kieth Law.

Wasn't this the same ESPN that had LSU beating ULM 7 - 6 in 10 innings in the regional final last weekend?
I learned long ago to stop paying attention to those idiots.
