I didn't see it on tv. From my vantage point the umpire hesitated which tells me he was safe but saw his momentum taking him off the bag. The real question is did he come off the bag? I thought he came off the bag based on his reaction as well as the SB players.

If he blocked the bag and/or aided in knocking Snickeris off the bag with the tag I say great play by him. When I played SS and 3rd I tried blocking the bag as much as possible when making tags. Illegal or not everyone tries it.

TV didn't really help either as you can tell from the many posts about it. Different people watching the same angles couldn't come to a consensus.

I'll say this: IF he was off of the base, then he was off because there was about an eighth inch of dirt between his foot and the base. 90% of the time the ump calls him safe since he was there way before the tag and wasn't obviously off of the base when he was tagged for the second time.

These guys had a hard on for calling people out. I base that off of the retarded check swings that were called strikes. Did you get to see those?

His toe came off the bag for a frickin' millisecond and the SB 2B saw it and instantly tagged him on that very foot and he was called out. As much as I was disgusted, it was a great heads-up play on his part.
