But he is a good sub and can give 20-25 minutes per game to help defense and grab some boards. Good piece to have

But if we can turn him into a fringe All Star, you give up that pick.

Gay hasn't made an all star game yet, but he has been close multiple times.

Ohh I gotcha. But we are rebuilding and Gay has a hefty contract and it might take a bit more than that for Gay

That's a good point. I don't think that would work either way though. Gay is pretty good

If Memphis really does wanna get rid of Gay...

Then they'll trade him to Toronto for #8, Ed Davis and Calderon. Toronto can put together a MUCH better package then what we could ever offer. Plus it moves him out of the conference and not in the division either if you're the Grizzlies.

He is Julian Wright on steroids (spastic ball handler, no jumper, good defender).

Not ready to say that yet. For one thing, the guy looks more engaged in the game. Plus he doesn't handle the ball at his knees like a school yard player. Ya' heard?:

Aminu probably has the worst turnover ratio of any wing player in the NBA the last two years. 16.6 last year, according to John Hollinger, and 15.9 this year.

I'm not ready to give up on him, though. Hopefully he gets in the gym and works on this weaknes this offseason.

I agree. I'm just not ready to toss him onto the JuJu trash heap (true confession, however . . . I was really high on Wright his first year in the league.)

Not if it gives us Rudy Gay. But then Ariza is really overpaid not to start, so he would have to be dealt then.
