They simply don't care enough about the unpleasantness of being that insanely, disproportionately passionate about something. Not only do they not care, they are capable of directing that indifference to corporeal disharmony into a seething cauldron called Saturday night. They get over how illogical their behavior is. I cannot stress this enough. They overcome regular mundane laziness and comfort and strive towards a kind of greatness. If Mars were made of corndogs and BCS trophies there'd already be a Mike the Tiger cage there.

the corndog thing is so fricking stupid. it was funny when the Big 12 used it for Nebraska (Cornhuskers...) it makes no sense for LSU.

Auburn fans would disagree with you. I think its funny and we serve Corndogs at our tailgate every game, a huge favorite with the visiting team.
