I'm sure this is not a new idea on Music Board, but I haven't seen it come up.
I was talking to my wife and it is damn near impossible for me to choose.
I boiled it down to Satisfaction being one of the most memerable/recognizable and also a great song.

I can't really think of one in particular, but Tom Morello has some of the sickest riffs of all time.

Black Crowes - Twice as Hard
Not my favorite but one of them.
ETA: Stranglehold is another. I forget who it was, but some comedian said "when you hear that riff, you just wanna frick it". I think that summed it up perfectly
Same thing with Oo You by McCartney.

There's something about AC/DC's Back In Black opening riff that at times has me hitting repeat before the 1st verse is even sung.

it's not particularly complex or anything but in terms of context w/in the song, the riff on Aqualung always gets my heartbeat up. Used to save that song for the last part of my run just to get me over the last rise.

It's just one of those songs where you know what song it is from the very first note.

There are so many guitarists that just won't play the friggin' riff, which is why I love The Ocean and Satisfaction so much.
Touch Me I'm Sick by Mudhoney and Nearly Lost You by the Screaming Trees are also killer riffs. More riffs!
