If he's been reclassified then that would explain why interest is picking up. For kids next year, only the best of the best would be getting tons of contact at the moment. 2014 is way too deep and good to jump on non elite kids this early. Letters and evals are about it for the most part.

I remember the thread his freshman year and he was getting a ton of love iirc. Different kind of back than we've had success with but imo we need particularly if we're going to employ some zone read stuff. Have to have that edge threat in those offenses. Difference is that he could translate to any style of offense instead of being a 1 trick pony like a McCalleb or Lamicheal James.
