I'm glad Claiborne told the truth. The Wonderlic is pointless.

Regardless if he took the test seriously or not, you just need to listen to him speak and watch him play football to realize he's not a dumb guy.

I like the comment trying to impersonate Claiborne via ebonics.

Actually, no. That guy is a douche, like most strictly NFL fans.

They can be dumb and racist all they want, but in the end it'll be Mo laughing his way to the bank.

I love Claiborne and I love the Cowboys, but I am disappointed with that comment. In any other circumstance, what that tells future employers is that he will only try at tasks he considers important, and not everything the employer tells him is important. Not the attitude you want in a new hire.

Meh, in the article Jerry Jones said the score was a "non issue".

Mo isn't saying anything ground breaking here. The test is meaningless.

Mo came to LSU as an athlete. He could have played a lot of positions. He played where he was needed (CB) an he excelled. Miles says that he did everything he was asked to do.

I don't think he's going to have any issues with his employer.

Jeez! Love Mo and appreciate everything that he has done at LSU...but that comment is just stupid. NFL fans are unforgiving and have loooong memories.

The very first blown coverage for a TD ( and it WILL happen), will result in the prick sportswriters in Dallas questioning his understanding of defensive schemes and reacting to offenses.

They will trumpet his wonderlic score as evidence.

C'mon, Mo! Don't give them ammo!

And they will be just as stupid as the people making a big deal of it today.

"I mean, I looked on the test and wasn't nothing on the test that came with football, so I pretty much blew the test off," Claiborne said.

Probably why everyone thinks he is a dumbass.

Outside of the "I love the Cowboys" piece, this comment is right on.

It may not make any difference whatsoever in his football career if Mo is motivated properly to perform consistently on the field (and I've certainly never seem him be selective in effort). This would be a gigantic red flag for many hiring managers, and for legit reasons. That said, I think he's gonna do great. I might even selectively pull for the Cowboys.

Obviously his approach to the test was a non-issue for Dallas, because they traded up to take him. But it may have been an issue for Minnesota or Tampa Bay or any other team who wanted to trade up to 3-5, who could have drafted him higher and paid him a few million more. No one foresaw all the trades last night, but to be fair he was taken lower than I had seen him in any projection in the last six months. The only evaluation element that changed in that time was the leak of his Wonderlic score.

I am thrilled that my Cowboys drafted an LSU player with great skills, athleticism, humility, quiet confidence, and family values. I am just a bit disappointed to hear that he didn't try on the Wonderlic because he didn't think it was important. Still gonna buy his jersey (and one for my pop for Father's Day).

If a manager asks you to perform a task during the hiring/interview process that has absolutely nothing to do with the job you will be performing, just to see "how you work" you should walk out because that manager is a dip shite.

The Wonderlic score has been shown to have no correlation to being a good football player.

You're free to do what you want, and the hiring employer will be grateful you didn't waste their time further.

But the company/manager are also free to do what they believe necessary to hire the right candidates. For high level or skilled roles where specific training is necessary, situational interviewing, including testing, is done routinely. It's an attempt to assess traits, attitudes and characteristics that no resume can reveal.

He was drafted a slot lower than most mock drafts because the Bucs traded with a team that was thinking offense, and he went #6 instead.

If you can make it through school thats all that matter. There are thousands of amazing athletes who couldn't do that, but could play football. As Einstein said
"Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."

I think if you score well it is probably a good indication you are intelligent. Bad scores are meaningless especially for judging a football player.
