Not my most cherished but beating Kentucky in BB in 1986 to go to the final four was pretty frickin sweet. They had handily beat us three times during the regular season, and it just seemed like they were gonna do it again. When Blanton hit the late layup and started spastically waving his arms I knew the impossible had happened.

Message Board cherry popping in progress. Beware of stains.
I must agree with many previous posters on their selections as most memorable moments in LSU sports history. I have been lucky to experience many of the moments you have chosen and will carry them with me for the remainder of my life. My most cherished moment definitely was created by a combination of it being my freshman year at LSU, Nick Saban's first year as head coach, an aura around LSU football that we still weren't a dominant football force as we are now, and perhaps one too many ziplock baggies to drink.
We beat a top rated Tennessee team in 2000 in Baton Rouge. We made our way down to the field. The goalposts came down. I rode one of them for about 20 seconds. That was my moment. Looking over the sea of LSU fans collected on the field of victory will unlikely be forgotten. FYI, we snapped about a 30 game losing streak in Tiger Stadium to Bama a few weeks later. Goalposts came down again.
Cherry.........popped
