Andy Griffith's performance in 'A Face In The Crowd' is incredible.
Elvis movies blow, but I agree, are very fun musicals. And I enjoy the nostalgic dated backdrops to Vegas, Acapulco, etc..
Love old classic films for the same sentiments. Love Turner Classics, and loved AMC when Nick Clooney hosted the old B&W films.

viva las vegas is the only one I've seen...but what's not to love about Elvis?
I loved Graceland and all it's cheesy greatness.
Also, I named my horse King Creole :)

When we were kids, we used to love the Elvis movies and the "Beach" movies (Beach, Blanket, Bingo, etc.)
Giving away my age now.

Not really a fan of his singing tongue-in-cheek movies but Charro! wasn't bad.
King Creole is good.

As big as an Elvis fan as I am, I have never actually watched one of his movies all the way through.

Jailhouse Rock
Viva Las Vegas
Flaming Star
Watch those and don't worry about the rest.

Yeah a bunch of them are pretty bad but I enjoy a good bit of them. King Creole is by far my favorite and one of my favorite movies from the 50's. It's one of the few believable Elvis movies instead of a surfer who's also a Indy car driver who sings during pit stops and roofer all in one. I also really like Kid Gallahad, probably my second favorite. Flaming Star and Jail House Rock are pretty good too. Fun In Acupulco is fun solely off of Ursula Andress.

I've only caught parts of it on AMC, but I definitely want to see the whole film. Andy Griffith had great range, and it was probably one of the stronger takes on demagoguery and the rise of mass media.
