Ivory soap for catfish

Read on here last week about using ivory soap to bait lines so I thought I would give it a try this weekend at Toledo Bend. Alternated baiting the hooks between the soap and live bait and had equal success with both.

A better test would be two lines, one with soap and one with live.

The main thing was that it kept gar off of trot lines. I don't think anyone claimed it was downright better than live bait, but it'd be interesting to see.

I'm going to alternate soap with punkin' seeds so I can catch both blues and ops.

I started the thread last week.
I don't know if it is true or not but I've always been told that the soap works better in murky water as opposed to clear water.
