Pegging your bullet weights

I have found myself pegging my texas rigged plastics and I am not really sure the reason. In my younger days I never did this and never had any issue with my catch rates.
I think I am going to go back to my roots and leave the toothpick out and see how my catch rate changes.
What say the OB..do you peg or not?

I use toothpicks as well. Keeps the weight from getting caught up in grass.

I started cause it seemed everyone else was...never really knew the reason.

Yeah it helps the bait punch through and come out of grass easier. I've never really done it, but obviously it works.

Get you some of these from bass pro. And they come in black.

Yeh those things work. Only problem I have is putting em on the damn line

Why is that hard? Its about the only option with sleeved tungsten. Only thing I dont like about them, is you need one below to peg it above the hook, which I do quite a bit.

I was having issues the other day getting one on some braid. And I've never needed one below the sinker.. Although I suppose that would be a great way to experiment with suspended fish (carolina rig at different depths)

I do it alot with lighter weights and flukes/trick worms.

No pegging here.
The only time I use toothpicks is for heavy grass. I hate the weight staying there otherwise. Then again, I never fish with weights anymore unless I'm in a swamp.

Same here. If I'm in heavy grass or thick timber, I don't want my weight moving.
