Rick Majerus. This guy has been a great coach especially in game. Most of the coaches you here about these days are great recruiters. With SEC caliber talent Majerus could be a powerhouse.

Didn't he have to retire due to heart issues? And didn't USC hire him and he resigned before going there because of health issues?

Straight coaching, without considering recruiting and other aspects, he is by far the best coach in college basketball. However, he is a wierd dude that could leave at any time due to health issues.

Could be good for a program like SMU. LSU would not be an option.

Majerus is great in a league where all the athletes are fairly comparable and coaching is the difference. Unfortunately, that isn't the SEC.
