his career is very comparable to Hudson so far.
This has been brought up before, but Hudson had some awesome games (especially in the SECT)...has Turner ever had ONE "awesome" game?????

Hudson had a 4 year sample. Turner has 2. Plus, I meant the fact that both had good freshman seasons and slumped in their sophomore years.
Plus, without looking up the stats, he was our MVP of our biggest win of the last 3 years (Marquette).

You can tell the people who don't keep up with LSU BBall too much because he did absolutely take over that game.
I think he shot like 60% from the field and had 2 clutch 3's late in the game.

the State game stands out to me. So does Wichita season before last (though we lost he singlehandedly brought us back)

except turner is at abut 37% FG%, hudson was around 42% his first 2 yrs. also hudson had better rebound and assist #s and about double the steals.

He ain't going anywhere.

Turner was also being asked to carry a hell of a lot more of the scoring load as a young guy than Hudson.

well the boards are to be expected (assuming your stats aren't made up) since he's a forward.
But frick, this wasn't the point. The word comparable does not mean "better" or "the same" even. They both had nice freshman campaigns and dipped in their second year. That was the only parallel I was drawing but some of you can't understand shite.

LSU's basketball team is going to start putting out flyers for walk on basketball players like the U did for football players

If J.O.III and Hickey leave, I might go walk on. Could be something to tell the grandkids.
Posted on 4/11/12 at 11:11 am to Jester
If we lose both JOB and Hickey I'm not attending a single basketball game next season. This team won't even win 5 games overall.

i believe the new guy will have more success than tj because he will at least put forth an effort, something tj didn't do...evidence is the last 3 f'n years.
Hannegriff came out yesterday and said what everybody already knew but nobody wanted to come out and say...and that is that TJ was lazy.

LIke when John Brady took over for Dale Brown. There were'nt even enough players on the team to scrimage 5 on 5.

Lots of people have said that. I don't think he was lazy. I just think he was planning on leaving and just gave up.

LSU fans do not understand these young men and the basis of their relationships with the coaches. From the outsider, it's about playing and winning. From the inside, more is taking place in personal development. Some parents want to make sure they are sending their child to a responsible environment and program. Priorities are a bit different than that of a fickle, self-serving fanbase.
Say what you will about Trent Johnson, but he was respected by those that really matter and he cleaned up a dirty house. For those that actually care about the development of these young men as people, they'll miss him. You're seeing that now in player/parent reactions.
For the good ole boy fans, "who cares? These young men are just there for our entertainment purposes only. Who cares if they graduate or become responsible citizens. Just win baby!"
This fanbase deserves a Tim Floyd, Bruce Pearl, or Scott Drew and everything that comes along with them. The Bobby Petrinos of basketball.

They aren't leaving. Why transfer when you can stay and get a better coach than you had before? Don't fear the upgrade!
