That's what happens when you make literally 0 meaningful changes on a team that completed one of the greatest collapses in the history of sports the previous season.

Pitching was a bigger problem than hitting during our collapse.

Yep. Maybe Fredi won't overuse the frick out of his two best relievers this season and wear them out come September.

Medlen is going to become our consistent 6th inning guy. It's really going to streamline the flowchart.

Medlen - 6th
O'Flaherty - 7th
Venters - 8th
Kimbrel - 9th provided a save opportunity is presented.

Who else is in the pen? Doesn't matter, we will never see them.

Here's a good summary of the Frediot in action:

...the screw up was not pinch hitting for Diaz with a right-handed pitcher on the mound. In that situation it’s inexcusable to not bring up Francisco or Hinske to hit.
That was just compounded by the fact that Fredi did his favorite move of all-time, double-switching to put Constanza in LF when he brought in Medlen.
So basically, Fredi neglected to make the high-percentage move, i.e. the pinch hit for Diaz, allowing Diaz to bat in a spot where he’s unlikely to reach base, but then he immediately pulls Diaz from the game the next half inning.
The cherry on top of the cake is that by double-switching, Fredi locks himself into Constanza in the 3 spot next inning, effectively letting the Mets manager know ahead of time whether a right-handed or left-handed batter will be up in the 9 hole....

Not to mention Constanza should never be used an offensive entity.

Fredi's head would explode if you tried to explain any of that to him.

Fredi will develop further tendencies, most likely not logically based. The flowchart should be ready after 2 or so weeks of watching him manage this team.

One game in and Fredi has already made a grave strategic error.

I am going to break something the first time we have an extra innings road game and Kimbrel is sitting in the pen as we lose.

I don't think managing was the problem today.

We got 4 hits today and 0 for 6 with RISP.

Lose every time doing that.

Yeah no need to jump on Fredi today. Just didn't get the job done when we had guys in scoring position. Too many unproductive at bats.

No room for that talk in this thread, maybe Wren will fire Fredi in a few days
