Additionally, I want it to be nickel/stainless. I own plenty of guns, but this one will be a showpiece. I will still shoot it. Just want a fantastic looking 1911. Price range 1200-1800.

If you're gonna get one, get the best; I'd have to sell my HK45, P30, and custom Savage 10fp to afford one.

Nighthawk Tactical GRP Recon. Have fun cleaning your pants.

That's pretty awesome but I believe he said he wanted a purdy one. Stainless/Nickel.

That one looks cool but more practical/tactical than pretty.

It may just be me but that gun goes against everything I think about when I think of a 1911.

1911, IMO, should be fairly standard unless it's a race gun.

Again, that's just me.

Not that you'll find one at a gun show but for the price of the kimber just spend a few bucks more and get a real 1911, a Les Baer PII.

I own one glock and that's all I'll ever own, I can't stand the trigger on them. I'm a single action guy all the way!

Piss on Glock. I'd try as hard as I could to save up $2500 and get an Ed Brown.

Ed Brown

I know that they are fine weapons and my father has one. We both shoot a ton of pistol rounds every year and I can't tell you the difference between my kimbers and his brown when we break them down and look at internals, they are both fine weapons that will be reliable and more accurate than any shooter could ever be.

I have 3 Browns, 4 NHCs, 2 Wilsons, a Baer, and a Volkmann.

The Browns are definitely the best deal in the semi custom market.

I have been temped to get a colt rail gun after shooting one a few weeks ago. Easily one of the nicest shooting guns I have ever shot.
